Case Study: Sweeper to fit the Iseki TXG with hydraulic drive
One solution for mounting a sweeper to your Iseki TXG......
The Iseki TXG is a robust an popular machine for grounds maintenance contractors. Adding a front linkage allows it to become a more valuable workhorse throughout the year, with attachments available for snow clearing, grass cutting and in this case sweeping.
The Kersten KM45 front sweepers may be powered by either PTO or hydraulic drive. Both solutions are available on the Iseki TXG series but there are pros and cons of each. On the TXG there is plenty of hydraulic flow, so the most cost effective option was to run a completely hydraulic system using services at the front of the tractor. This allows for fitment of a mid deck for mowing.
This sweeper was fitted with a brush guard to prevent mud and dust from spraying back onto the windscreen of the cab. This makes sweeping a much more enjoyable task and keeps material close to the brush . The 5 row spiral brush has plenty of space between the rows to allow movement of voluminous material like snow and requires less power than other brushes to do so. The brush can be manually angled from left to right in this case. There is an option to fit hydraulic angling, which can be operated from the cab.
The items used in this project were as follows:
- KM 15045 H Front mounted sweeper
- ABR brackets to fit front sweeper to the Cat 0 front linkage
- GUSPL 15045 brush guard
- Front Linkage for Iseki TXG (from Iseki)
The KM 45 series of sweepers are supplied with garage stands to enable the machine to be wheeled around when not connected to the tractor.
Mounting a sweeper on the front of a tractor provides far greater manoeuvrability than mounting on the rear 3 point linkage and prevents driving over the snow first, which could compact it under the tyres - making it harder to sweep..
However a rear mounted alternative for the TXG could be the HKM 15040 M
Kersten sweepers are great at maintaining hard surfaces by removing detritus and debris which reduces weed growth and is fundamental to Integrated weed management.
Other attachments suitable for the Iseki TXG may be found on the Iseki TXG Attachments Page
